Bespoke Kitchens Made in Yorkshire | Our Designs

Kitchens made to be lived in

No two kitchens are the same. Neither are two homes.

We do not offer ranges or collections in the conventional sense. What we offer is a process. One that begins with understanding how you live, what you cook, how your family moves through a space, what light does to a room at different times of day.

From that understanding, we design. And from that design, we specify every element with care, working with trusted British manufacturers to bring each design to life exactly as intended.

British-made cabinetry, built to an exacting standard. Combined with our design expertise, personal approach and hands-on installation, it is what gives every Kitchen Room kitchen its character and its longevity.

Every kitchen we create is the only one of its kind. Tailored to a particular home, a particular family, a particular life.

Modern classics

The shaker style endures not because it is fashionable, but because it is honest. Clean lines, proper proportions, materials that speak for themselves. There is nothing unnecessary and nothing missing. Our shaker kitchens are warm without being fussy, refined without being cold. They work in farmhouses and Victorian terraces, in open-plan extensions and traditional cottage kitchens. They are, quite simply, a kitchen that belongs. The beauty is in the restraint.

Our timeless contemporary kitchens focus on clean lines, calm design and everyday practicality. For those who want something quieter and more modern, we design kitchens that let the materials do the talking. Handleless cabinetry in real walnut or a considered painted finish. Clean surfaces with nothing to interrupt the eye. A calm that settles over the whole room.

This is not minimalism for its own sake. It is the result of removing everything that is not necessary, until what remains is exactly right.

There is something deeply satisfying about an in-frame kitchen. The visible frame around each door is a mark of proper cabinet-making, a tradition rooted in British craftsmanship that has endured for good reason. Our in-frame kitchens are made from solid hardwood, hand-finished in a palette of considered paints. They suit homes with character, period features and architectural detail, though they bring that same sense of permanence and calm to any space that wants it. This is a kitchen that gets more beautiful with time, not less. One you will never tire of.

The details that make the difference

A kitchen is made in the details. The weight of a drawer as it closes. The proportion of a handle against a door. The way a worktop edge catches the light. The depth of a butler sink. The shadow line where the frame meets the door.

We think about all of it. Not because we have to, but because we believe these things matter. They are what separates a kitchen that is merely functional from one that is genuinely beautiful.

We work with exceptional makers of hardware, stone, appliances and lighting to bring every detail to the standard the rest of the kitchen deserves.

Colour considered

Colour is part of that process from the very beginning. Sam has a deep passion for colour and the way it shapes how a space feels. How a soft green reads differently on a north-facing wall than a south-facing one. How an off-white can feel warm and enveloping or cool and crisp depending on the light it sits in. How the right colour can make a kitchen feel like it has always been there.

We offer a full colour consultation as part of our design process. Our curated palette of twenty-six painted finishes has been selected to work beautifully across a range of homes and styles. Soft, nature-led greens. Quiet off-whites. Deeper, more expressive tones for those who want their kitchen to make a bolder statement. For those who want something entirely their own, we colour-match to any Farrow and Ball or Little Greene shade.

Because a kitchen should feel like it could only ever belong to you.

Materials chosen for a lifetime

We do not specify materials we would not use in our own home. Everything we recommend, from the cabinetry construction to the worktop stone to the finish on a tap, is chosen for how it will look and feel in 10 years, not just on the day it is installed.

Our kitchens are made using British-manufactured cabinetry, built to a standard that the price cannot be faked at. We are proud of what goes into them, and we stand behind every one with a 15 year guarantee.

The Kitchen Room did an excellent job transforming our kitchen. The quality of the work was outstanding, communication was excellent throughout, and their advice and support were invaluable. We would happily recommend them.
